Fort Garry Place Conference Centre, Grand Ballroom

REGISTRATION FORM

Early Bird Registration closes Friday, October 4th

Jointly presented by the Manitoba Bar Association, The University of Manitoba Faculty of Law &
The Law Society of Manitoba

Thresholds for capacity vary depending on the decision and the legal or medical context.  What are those thresholds and how is capacity determined? What are the potential consequences of these variations and what can you as a practitioner do to protect your client?

What do you know about Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD)?

As part of estate planning, many clients are increasingly concerned about MAiD. What is the capacity threshold, what is the process and what role do you as the lawyer take on?

This year’s Pitblado Lectures will provide thought provoking presentations as well as concrete guidance for practitioners who are faced with these scenarios.
