The Manitoba Law Library, also known as the Great Library, can be found on the 3rd floor of the Manitoba Law Courts building or online at LawLibrary.ca.
Funded by the Law Society of Manitoba, the role of the library is to support competence in the legal profession, by ensuring that lawyers have access to essential legal research tools, which include an extensive print collection, with up-to-date titles in a diverse selection of areas of law, as well as online resources accessible on site or online through the Member’s Portal.
Resources Available
In-Person
Resources include a comprehensive print collection, printing services, internet access and access to Westlaw through the library computers.
Online
Off-site users can access Rangefindr, Heinonline, vLex, the complete Irwin Law Collection (Essentials of Canadian Law) provided through desLibris, and Emond’s Criminal Law Series in eBook format.
Library staff are available to assist in person or online with all kinds of legal research, including: finding difficult to find cases, journal articles, commentary and legal authorities, as well as historical legislation research.
