Information collected

When you use this website, the Law Society of Manitoba collects the following information:

  1. Contact information, such as name, company name, address, billing address, phone number, fax number and e-mail address.
  2. Billing and other financial information, such as, but not limited to, credit card information.
  3. Automatic information received and stored whenever you use this website, such as internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, login, e-mail address, password, computer connection information, such as browser type and version, operating system and platform, the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through and from this website, including date and time, cookie number and products that you viewed or searched for.

The Information may be used to provide you with Continuing Professional Development resources made available on this website, including to fill your requests for educational resources, to respond to your communications to the Law Society, to communicate with you, to customize your use of this website, to administer this website, to diagnose technical problems with this website, to develop and communicate new educational resources.

Sharing of Information

The Law Society may employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on its behalf, such as filling requests, delivering packages, sending postal and e-mail, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments and providing customer service. These companies and individuals will have access only to the Information that is needed to perform their function. These companies and individuals may not use the Information for other purposes.

The Law Society may release the Information when the Law Society believes that it is appropriate to comply with the law, to enforce or apply the terms and conditions of use of this website and other agreements and to protect the rights, property or safety of the Law Society and others who use this website. The Law Society has security measures in place to protect the misuse and unauthorized disclosure of the Information. For example, to protect the security of the Information during transmission, the Law Society uses software which encrypts the Information.
The internet is not a totally secure medium. The Law Society does not guarantee that its security measures will always be totally effective.

Information you can access
