Centering Community Voices
The Manitoba Access to Justice (A2J) Initiative brings together community members, frontline providers and provincial and Indigenous governments to transform how we work together across a complex, interconnected system.
The Reality We Face
Meaningful progress on access to justice isn’t limited by a lack of ideas, commitment, or investment—it’s limited by how we collaborate.
What We Heard from the Community
For fifteen months we listened to community members, front-line service providers, Indigenous and provincial governments, Elders and justice seekers. Thank you to community members for generously sharing your insights, perspectives and ideas. We have gathered your input in the “What We Heard from Community Report”, now available in English and French, see right side bar.
What we heard is clear: The barrier is not knowing what to do – it is how we work together to do it.
Next Steps
You shared your vision for how to meaningfully improve access to justice. Now it’s time to take collective action.
We are establishing an Access to Justice Action Coalition to lead the work of realizing the community’s vision and ensure accountability. Community voices will be at the forefront of this work. Stay tuned—we’ll share progress updates right here.
