National Indigenous peoples Day is Wednesday, June 21. It is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. Here are some ways you can mark the day:

- Join the all-day festivities with the Manitoba Métis Federation in Selkirk Park, June 21, starting with breakfast at 9:00 am
- North End Women’s Centre is hosting a a sacred fire and feasting of drums on June 21 from 1:00 pm – 2:30 at 394 Selkirk Avenue
Enjoy a day of Indigenous art and education at the Winnipeg Art Gallery- Qaumajuq starting with lunch at 12:00 pm.- Visit the Canadian Museum for Human Rights Truth and Reconciliation Exhibition
- Experiences
- Celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day in Brandon at the Riverbank Discovery Centre
- Visit the Indigenous Peoples Gardenin Canada’s Diversity Garden at Assiniboine Park, with translations in seven different Indigenous languages
- Check out Travel Manitoba’s 10 Indigenous experiences you must have this summer in Manitoba
- Visit the Canadian Museum for Human Rights Truth and Reconciliation Exhibition

Time to Fill the Gap in Our Education
With the launch of The Path this fall the Law Society looks to fill the gap in the legal profession’s education and understanding of Indigenous peoples’ history, cultures and experiences.
