Please Be Advised of the Limitations of Sandbox Services Providers
A participant approved for participation in the regulatory sandbox who is not a lawyer or law firm, is not regulated by the Law Society of Manitoba. This means the Law Society does not supervise their education, training and qualifications, apply a Code of Professional Conduct and ethical standards (e.g. solicitor-client privilege does not apply), provide a discipline process, nor mandate professional liability insurance. In allowing an applicant to provide certain services, through the sandbox, the Law Society is not endorsing the service provider or the delivery model. However, the Law Society will impose conditions upon approved applicants including a requirement to provide reports on a periodic basis.
Please note you are encouraged to discuss and confirm directly with Sandbox participants:
- their education, training, and experience;
- if they maintain professional liability insurance; and
- their fees and rates for services.
