The Human Rights and Conflict Management Advisor provides guidance to the UM community on policy, respectful conduct, the formal complaint process, and conflict management strategies. Preparing and delivering educational sessions regarding relevant UM policy, conflict management, and behavioral expectations is another component of this position. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with preference given to candidates with additional education, such as a Master’s degree in the humanities or social sciences, or certificates in counseling, mediation, social work, or law. Trauma-informed training as well as specialized training in or experience with Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and conflict resolution methodologies, procedures and practices (for example, Credentialed Mediator and Conflict Management Coach) are also preferred.
