Announcing New Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Alissa Schacter, Deputy Chief Executive Officer
The Law Society of Manitoba is pleased to announce Alissa Schacter as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, effective January 5, 2026.
Alissa most recently served as Director of Policy and Strategic Initiatives, where she played a pivotal role in developing our 2025–2028 Strategic Plan. She has been instrumental in overseeing key projects within this framework, including working closely with the CEO to advance the community- co-designed Access to Justice initiative.
Her leadership also extends to the national stage, where she has collaborated with the CEO on the national Rule of Law campaign Ours to Protect, launched this past fall. This initiative, which unites Canadians around the shared values of fairness, justice, and equality, has garnered significant international interest and opened new doors for collaboration.
Alissa brings a wealth of diverse experience to her new position, having held several key roles during her tenure with the Law Society. Notably, she served for several years as Equity Officer and Policy Counsel, where she worked with the Indigenous Advisory Committee and led a team that successfully launched “The Path,” the mandatory Indigenous Intercultural Awareness and Competency training for all practising Manitoba lawyers, as well as the 2022 Part-Time Practising Fees Pilot Program.
Please join us in congratulating Alissa on her new role as we look forward to her continued leadership in advancing the mission of the Law Society.
