We’re Hiring – Law Student (Summer 2026)
The Role:
We are seeking a first-year law student (and potentially two students) for summer employment. The student will provide general assistance to the Society’s Deputy CEO, the Director, Complaints Resolution, and other staff lawyers in the Complaints Resolution, Policy and Insurance Departments. Duties include conducting court searches and legal research and may include preparation of draft documents, as well as policy and project work. There may be opportunities to attend discipline and court hearings depending on the status of various proceedings.
Duties also include providing general assistance with respect to the administration of files in the possession of the Law Society in its capacity as custodian of a member’s practice. These duties may include reviewing member client files to determine whether original documents should be preserved or destroyed. General administrative duties may also be assigned.
About the Law Society:
The Law Society of Manitoba is the governing body for the legal profession in Manitoba. Our mandate is to regulate the legal profession in the public interest. With a staff of nearly 50, we are responsible for a wide variety of functions including admission, education and discipline.
Qualifications:
Strong written and communication skills are required. The student must understand legal documents and concepts and be able to work with a fair degree of independence.

Salary:
$20.00/hour
